To further promote Wing Chun culture, the World Wing Chun Union, the Government of Malaysia, the Malaysian International Wing Chun Union and Prime Minister's Office of Malaysia, etc. have jointly organized the Malaysia International Ip Man Wing Chun Festival & World Wing Chun Championship.

The event not only included Wing Chun kungfu performance and Wing Chun weapons show but also an exhibition introducing Ip Man and Bruce Lee. Moreover, some of the actors and actresses in <The Legend Is Born: IP Man> also met in the gathering.

Other than the 5 competition items, namely open Championship, Weapon Pattern, Chi Sao, Breaking and Pattern,  there were also matches to break the guinness world records.
